GABUNGAN YOUTHS FORM GEMA SABAH TO ASSERT SABAH RIGHTS..
KOTA
KINABALU - Youth movements from five political parties joined forces by
forming Gabungan Muda Sabah (Sabah Youth Alliance) or GEMA Sabah, last
Friday.
Its chief Jamain Sarudin said in a statement that the
alliance aims to become a platform for young people in the State who are
serious in fighting for the rights of Sabahans.
He said Gema Sabah is made up of youth movements from Sabah Progressive
Party (SAPP), Parti Cinta Sabah (PCS), Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku
(STAR), Parti Harapan Rakyat Sabah (PHRS) and Parti Perpaduan Rakyat
Sabah (PPRS).
"It's time for youths to form a united team to face the coming elections," he said.
He also said that the alliance will encourage its members to support activities carried out by all the five parties.
"It's important that we're united to avoid split in the opposition as
what had happened in the 13th general election," he added.
Jamain, who is also SAPP Youth Chief, expressed confidence that voters
will vote for political parties that work together as a team and not the
ones who are fighting alone.
On this note, he criticised some
opposition party leaders whom he described as playing in a bunker and
whose actions are jeopardising the opposition's chances to defeat the
Barisan Nasional in the elections.
"Political bunker brings no
positive benefit to the people. It must be stopped," he insisted. He
said Gema Sabah continues to hope that all opposition parties would make
a wise choice by forming a strategic collaboration to ensure a straight
fight against the BN component parties in all the contested seats.
